Location

Bowen is located only 5 minutes off the highway, half way between Mackay and Townsville. Just a short drive from the Whitsundays, Bowen is certainly "Top of the Whitsundays".

Bowen is surrounded by 8 beautiful sandy beaches, all within 5km drive of the Post Office, where you can snorkel and see coral reef fish within metres of the shore. The waters around Horseshoe Bay, Grays Bay and Murray Bay are popular dive spots for the diving enthusiasts. Fishing is also a major attraction, commercially or for leisure, either from the beaches and rocky outcrops or the nearby islands.
