Barnacles Backpackers is an accommodation hostel located in the tropical Queensland town of Bowen, on a quiet residential street near the centre of town and only 500m from the pool and beach.

Catering to travellers on a working holiday and helping travellers find work, the hostel offers all the accommodation and guest facilities needed to ensure your stay with us is as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

When not working enjoy the many local attractions including the beautiful, sandy beaches where you can snorkel and see coral reef fish within metres of the shore. The waters around Horseshoe Bay, Grays Bay and Murray Bay are popular dive spots for the diving enthusiasts.

Fishing is also a major attraction, either from the beaches and rocky outcrops or the nearby islands.
